The Fun Trend of Wedding Photo Bomb Line Ups: Igniting Creativity in Photography

August 18th, 2024

Hey there, it’s us again! We’re excited to share with you one of the latest trends in wedding photography that we’ve been absolutely loving: Photo Bombing Line Ups.  Now, hear me out before you jump to any conclusions.  Traditionally, photo bombing was seen as a nuisance, an unexpected intruder ruining a perfect shot.  But this is done in a controlled way, it's evolved into a fun and spontaneous way to get photos with everyone at your wedding and add some character and unexpected charm to the photos.

The way it’s done, is the bride and groom set up someplace (usually the dance floor) and all their guests line up for a quick fun photo.  The guests group themselves, pose themselves, and do the most entertaining things!  Sometimes the same guest will go through the line up multiple times in different groups or just because they want to do something fun in another photo.  The whole process can usually be done in 5-15 minutes, and you get tons of photos with everyone involved.

We've always been a fan of capturing real, raw moments. And what's more authentic than guests popping up in your frame for a split second and showing their personality and relationship with you?  It's definitely fun to see how each person interacts with you - you're no longer just posing perfectly and statically, rather you’re giving each guest a chance to be themselves.  It adds a whole new layer of creativity and spontaneity to the mix, and we’re all for it.

Plus, it's just plain fun! we've had some of the best laughs while looking back at photos and discovering a cheeky photo bomber making a funny face or striking a pose.  We’ve had people jump across the bride and groom’s laps, do the splits, make funny faces and many other hilarious things.  It's an unexpected surprise that adds a dash of humor and joy to the wedding experience.  It also makes sure everyone has a chance to get a photo with you to remember your big day.

Now, I'm not suggesting we turn every wedding into a free-for-all. Not all moments are suited for a photo bomb. But it can create some great memories for your big day. It's all about balance, knowing when to keep things traditional and when to embrace the unexpected.
